The Times piece focused on features such as river views, walkability, closeness to rail services, schools, and housing costs. It also pointed out local historic sites, such as Sunnyside, the home of writer Washington Irving, and Lyndhurst, the 19th-century manse of railroad tycoon Jay Gould.

The Times did not sugarcoat the village’s current love-hate relationship with the massive Tappan Zee Bridge project, which, it said, has been the source of numerous complaints about noise and traffic. The newspaper quoted Village Administrator Michael S. Blau, who said the state is addressing those issues.
