IRVINGTON, N.Y. -- Irvington jazz guitarist Chuck Loeb has found a way to teach aspiring musicians virtually from his home studio or while performing on the road with the innovative teaching platform, the ArtistWorks Jazz Guitar School.

Loeb, a Grammy nominated guitarist for the jazz group Fourplay who has performed worldwide and locally at Tarrytown Music Hall and the Paramount in Peekskill, is sharing his experience and teaching talents to a wider "class" online beginning this month.

"My goal is to provide the students with the skills they need so they will, as a result, have the freedom to express themselves in whatever situation they find themselves in musically," Loeb said. "And to have them learn all the technical and theoretical aspects of the guitar, so they can just forget everything and play from their heart."

ArtistWorks currently "teaches" tens of thousands of aspiring musicians in nearly 100 countries. The students receive personal interactive lessons with acclaimed musicians and artists through their mobile devices and computers.

Loeb hopes to reach everyone from the hardcore hobbyist wanting to master jazz improvisation, to the rusty guitarist getting back into the game. He said even younger musicians are interested in growing their jazz skills.

"I meet so many young people all around the world who have an interest in this music, and improvising, in general, is a language that doesn't get old in my experience," Loeb said.

ArtistWorks features 25 different online schools in bluegrass, rock guitar and bass, violin, flute, voice and banjo taught by world-renowned teaching artists like Westchester bassist John Patitucci.

ArtistWorks’ patent-pending Video Exchange™ Feedback Platform features interaction between members and teachers. The platform allows beginning and seasoned members to submit practice videos to their teacher using a smartphone, tablet or computer. The teacher then reviews them and responds with his/her own video containing personalized feedback and additional instruction.

Loeb’s new online school simplifies complicated modes and scales, and makes jazz improvisation accessible to guitarists from all genres.

“I love teaching, but because of my travel and recording schedules, it’s nearly impossible to schedule traditional master classes and clinics,” said Loeb. “When fellow ArtistWorks instructors Nathan East and John Patitucci approached me about this incredible program, I was hooked. It’s a brilliant way to get busy artists and students together to interact on a regular basis, and in a meaningful and never-before-possible way.”

ArtistWorks membership starts as low as $90 for three months. For more information about the new Online Jazz Guitar School with Chuck Loeb, visit his site.
