The drama premieres on Sept. 16 at 9 p.m., following "Bones."

"In this modern-day twist on Washington Irving’s classic, Ichabod Crane is resurrected and pulled two and a half centuries through time to find that the world is on the brink of destruction and that he is humanity’s last hope, forcing him to team up with a contemporary police officer to unravel a mystery that dates back to the founding fathers," the network said in its press release.

Fox released the first trailer for the show in May.

The show was not filmed in Sleepy Hollow, although the trailer shows several aerial views of the village including the Philipse Manor Train Station and the Hudson River waterfront.

British actor Tom Mison has been tapped to play Ichabod Crane. Other cast members include Shame actor Nicole Beharie, MadTV star Orlando Jones and "Dexter" alumna Katia Winter.

The show is penned by Transformers writers Alex Kurtzman and Bob Orci.
