Deadline Hollywood reports Fox has picked up a pilot based on Washington Irving's “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow” that follows a modern-day Ichabod Crane and Sleepy Hollow's female sheriff as they solve mysteries in the battle between good and evil.

Transformers writers Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci are behind the show, with Len Wiseman directing.

Another Sleepy Hollow series is in development at the CW. That show, from "Missing" writers Patrick Macmanus and Grant Scharbo, makes Crane an FBI agent sent to Sleepy Hollow to investigate a mysterious beheading, Deadline Hollywood reported.
