In our first ever DVlicious tie, Valhalla's Village Creamery & Sweet Shop and King Kone in Somers both won top honors with each grabbing 40 percent of the vote.
The DVlicious contest has been going on since June 4, with ever-changing results, including the neck and neck (or dare we say cone to cone?) finish.
Both ice cream establishments, coincidentally, are run by husband and wife owners: John and Kristin Caldarola at Village Creamery and Deb and Brian Hopkins at King Kone.
King Kone is known more for its soft-serve while Village Creamery is known for its homemade ice cream. The latter has been in business for just over a year, while King Kone has been around for 62. Go here for the King Kone store; here for Village Creamery.
Thanks to all who voted and stay tuned for our next DVlicious contest asking for input on the county's best burgers.
In the meantime, enjoy Strawberry Sundae Day, on Tuesday, July 7, Peach Ice Cream Day on Thursday, July 17, and Vanilla Ice Cream Day on Thursday, July 23.
