Warner Library Presents Cooking With Renana In Tarrytown

TARRYTOWN, N.Y. -- Local chef and educator Renana Shvil-Tobi will offer a cooking class, “Cooking by the Book,” Friday at 10:15 a.m. for children ages 2-5 and their caregivers at the Warner Library in Tarrytown.

Healthy foods will be prepared, accompanied by a picture book related to the food. Children will be introduced to the ingredients, encouraged to explore them with all senses and learn how to measure and take turns making a dish inspired by a children's book.

Shvil-Tobi been a cooking instructor for 10 years. She has also been a preschool teacher in a Montessori school in Brooklyn and in a preschool in Westchester. She brings with her the understanding of child development and the creative methods of educating young children.

Food education has become a passion and mission for the chef. In her lessons, she focuses on healthy and delicious ingredients, and familiarizes students with simple and natural ways of satisfying their appetite.

The Warner Library is at 121 N. Broadway, Tarrytown.
