TARRYTOWN, N.Y. – Authors, kids and community residents are coming together to raise money for the Warner Library Children's Room — and they're doing it by reading.

The Elementary Parent-Teacher Association of the Tarrytowns and Warner Library will host the third annual Read Out from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 2. Kids in kindergarten through fifth grade can come and read or hear others read.

Donations are raised through pledges for each hour participating kids spend reading at the event. Pledge forms are available at the EPTA of the Tarrytowns website .

Saturday's event will feature James Edwards and his StoryPlay program. Edwards is a Mom's Choice Award-winning author of "The Chronicles of the Monster Detective Agency" books. Guest speakers will be present Saturday to read to kids who need a break from their own reading.

EPTA officials added there will be a large number of autographed children's and middle school books that will be raffled off, including children's books from James Patterson and director Chris Columbus ("Home Alone," "Harry Potter").

All proceeds will benefit the Children's Room.
