Organizers tie-dyed shirts and donated used clothing to the needy.
The Gift of Hanukkah program allows the organization’s communities in Westchester to host parties at a number of its beneficiary agencies.
“You may not realize this, but UJA supports nearly 100 health, human-service, educational, and community agencies” said Elissa Strauss, of Irvington, during the gathering at the JCC in Tarrytown.
The clothing and T-shirts were donated toward the Kids’ Kloset program of the Westchester Jewish Community Services, which distributes the items to vulnerable children in Westchester. WJCS is also supported by UJA-Federation.
