TARRYTOWN, N.Y. - Villagers and visitors to Tarrytown will see the 14th Annual Holiday tree lighting Saturday, Dec. 7 at Patriot Park on Broadway beginning at 5 p.m.

Those who attend will enjoy the tree lighting ceremony, music and Santa's arrival at the Park before heading to nearby Warner Library for refreshments.

The holiday season is already underway as the Tarrytown Recreation Department continues accepting letters to Santa’s Reindeer Express, C/o Tarrytown Rec Dept, P.O. Box 292, Tarrytown, New York 10591, now through Dec. 17.

"Santa's Reindeer Express" mail service (with the help of the Recreation Department!) will answer children's letters so parents are asked to include a name and return address.

In Sleepy Hollow, young letter writers can leave their letters -- with return addresses - for Santa in a box at the Beekman Avenue Post Office from now until Dec. 20 or mail letters to Village of Sleepy Hollow "Santa", 55 Elm Street, Sleepy Hollow, N.Y. 10591.

The Sleepy Hollow Recreation Department's Gingerbread Decorating has also begun begins now. Bring gingerbread submission to the Senior Center at 55 Elm Street through Dec. 20. For more information, call 366-5109). Houses will be displayed and then judged with participation awards and prizes given.
