TARRYTOWN, N.Y. Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow residents will be celebrating Earth Day with a little spring cleaning.
Environmental and community groups have planned several upcoming events in both villages around the day.
Sleepy Hollow and the Sleepy Hollow Downtown Revitalization Committee will host an Earth Day celebration Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Winfield L. Morse School playground. The day's activities include crafts, flower planting, snacks and a children's art display.
Tarrytown will host its village cleanup day Saturday. Volunteers can meet at Patriot's Park or the Tarrytown Lakes from 10 a.m. to noon.
Organizers ask volunteers to bring gloves and picker-uppers if possible.
Members of the Little Gardens of Tarrytown plan to spruce up the native plant garden near the entrance at Neperan Park in Tarrytown from 9 a.m. to noon Sunday. Organizers ask that volunteers bring garden tools.
