SLEEPY HOLLOW, N.Y. – Pirates are invading Philipsburg Manor this weekend.
The annual “Pirates of the Hudson” storms the historic Sleepy Hollow site between Thursday and Sunday, featuring gypsy sword dancers, live music and more beginning at 1 p.m. each day.
Kids and adults can take photos with a “real” mermaid princess and Peterwick, a talkative parrot.
The festival will also offer kids' glitter tattoos, a treasure hunt, a pirate shipwreck and pirate lessons.
Adults can enjoy draft brews from sponsor Captain Lawrence Brewing Company. Tastefully Yours from Briarcliff Manor will also offer food.
The popular attraction is produced by the same team in charge of the Halloween-themed Horseman’s Hollow.
Pirates and privateers were both familiar to the Philipse family, who were merchants involved in trans-Atlantic trade.
Tickets are $16 for adults and $12 for children .
