Phelps Memorial Hospital Hosts 25th Champagne Ball

SLEEPY HOLLOW, N.Y. – A doctor at Phelps Memorial Hospital and a medical journalist will be honored at the hospital's 25th annual Champagne Ball.

Officials will honor Dr. Albert Sheehy and CBS medical journalist Dr. Max Gomez at the Nov. 10 ball, which will raise money for the Sleepy Hollow hospital.

"Both Dr. Sheehy and Dr. Gomez have made exceptional contributions to health and well-being in the Phelps community and beyond," Keith E. Safian, Phelps' president and CEO, said in a press release. "Dr. Sheehy has served generations of patients at the hospital and Dr. Gomez has reached millions of viewers with health education segments on television. Our milestone 25th Champagne Ball is Phelps' opportunity to recognize the tremendous impact these two men have had on the lives of others."

The Champagne Ball will be at the Trump National Golf Club in Briarcliff Manor and will include a “fund-a-cause” auction, in which the goal is to fund a designated hospital program or service by the end of the night. This year's ball raises funds for the Thomas E. and Alice M. Hales Endoscopy Unit.

Individual tickets to the ball are $500. For information on purchasing tickets or table, journal and underwriting opportunities, visit Phelps' website.

Event organizers say the event's annual success is shown by its 25th anniversary.

"The gala is a landmark occasion that brings together doctors, staff, family, friends and the community to celebrate all that Phelps has accomplished and to share plans for the future,” co-Chair Pamela Terracciano said. “We have an extraordinary volunteer committee whose members are truly the heart and soul of the Ball."
