Lightscapes Returns To Historic Hudson Valley

CROTON-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. -- Lightscapes will return for its third year at historic Van Cortlandt Manor on April 29.

New elements of the illumination and sculpture land-art installation include "live" luna moths, a 40-foot-long centipede and a pulsating River of Light.

Lightscapes features an interactive Shadow Wall,Colorwheel Castle, the Frog Prince, a giant praying mantis, 7,500 smaller sculptures and a light show.

Phish collaborator and songwriter Steve Pollak and Charles de Saint Phalle collaborated to add five new tracks for their supersonic musical soundscape. 

Blue Pig of Croton and Geordane’s of Irvington will serve spring-themed sweets, candy and baked goods.

The all-ages, rain-or-shine show has been expanded to 20 nights for 2016 and runs on Thursday through Sunday plus Memorial day, the final day of Lightscapes.

The first entry is at 8:15 p.m. or 8:30 p.m. the final three weekends. Last entry is 9:30 p.m.
