The event will held on Thursday, Oct. 30, from  7:30 – 10 a.m., at The Doubletree Hotel, 455 S. Broadway, Tarrytown.

Finkelstein’s contributions to the legal services and not-for-profit communities will be recognized with the event’s Harold Fitzpatrick Community Leadership Award, in recognition of “having fostered the spirit of unity among all segments of our county,” and “her professional and community service that has clearly exemplified these ideals.”

Finkelstein oversees every aspect of Legal Services of the Hudson Valley (LSHV), the largest provider of free civil legal services to more than 500,000 poor and low-income individuals in Westchester, Putnam, Dutchess, Orange, Rockland, Sullivan and Ulster Counties.

Since Finkelstein became executive director in 1995 and now CEO, Legal Services of the Hudson Valley has increased its budget five fold and has grown to a 100-person staff with an $11 million-dollar budget and eight offices. She is the first woman to lead the organization and is a national leader on the topic of civil legal services in areas of unmet need.

Under her leadership LSHV has made great strides in securing funding from public and private sources to increase services to low-income residents of the Hudson Valley facing civil legal problems affecting the basic necessities of life.

Ticket cost is $50 per person. For more information, or to purchase tickets, call 914-948-2110 or visit www.AAMW.com.  RSVP requested, by Thursday, Oct. 23.
