Irvington Fire Department Hosts Open House On Saturday

IRVINGTON, N.Y. – The Irvington Fire Department is hosting an open house on Saturday for potential recruits.

Irvington residents can find out how to become a volunteer firefighter on Saturday.

The department will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 90 Main St. The open house is part of the Fireman's Association of the State of New York's RecruitNY campaign.

The open house will let potential volunteers find out how they can serve their community.

“Throughout the day, the Irvington Fire Department will conduct tours of the station and firefighter apparatus, allow visitors to try on firefighter gear, and provide activities and stations throughout the firehouse for visitors,” a press release from the department said. “The fire department will discuss the requirements to be a volunteer, as well as conduct demonstrations, answer questions, and let visitors know how to get involved in the fire department.”
