Hanukkah Events Arrive In Irvington

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- Hanukkah events will be in full effect throughout Irvington with upcoming holiday experiences scheduled throughout December.

There will be a shop and play at Hanukkah Funhouse and Gift Store, which is holding its grand opening on Sunday, Dec. 7. From Sunday, Dec. 7 through Monday, Dec. 22, visit 64 Main St. in Irvington for an all-ages  Chanukah experience. Enjoy the exclusive gift store stocked with Judaica, gifts and Hanukkah merchandise.

Store owners have planned an array of events and activities designed to piqué the interest of every age group and to provide hands-on ways to celebrate and learn about Hanukkah. Stop by to craft a candle, decorate a candle make a menorah. Irvington students will enjoy hot, delicious latkes served every day after school from 3 p.m. – 4 p.m.

The store will also feature cooking classes, children’s story times, special events at nights for adults – there’s something for everyone at Hanukkah Wonderland.  Hanukkah Wonderland will be open Sundays noon – 6 p.m., Monday – Thursdays 2 p.m. – 6 p.m. and Fridays 10 a.m. - 1 p.m.

Chabad of the Rivertowns is also presenting the tri-state area's first-ever Hanukkah Village. Main Street in Irvington will be transformed on Sunday, Dec. 21 into a magical holiday experience for the whole family.

Families will stroll up and down Main Street, visiting stores that will offer special Hanukkah-themed activities. Hanukkah concerts and other entertainment will be held to add a flourish to the afternoon. The day will be capped off with a community-wide menorah lighting, featuring special and honored guests.
