Throughout the years, the church has played an instrumental role in the town by organizing after-school programs, job readiness programs and efforts to help the members of the community.

Two programs that the Union Baptist Church organized are the Jobs For Life program and The Greenburgh Older Youth Initiative. The Jobs For Life program offers job readiness for young men who were placed under the church's supervision by the Greenburgh Town Court. The Greenburgh Older Youth Initiative is a program that offers youth training in light home repairs.

Other initiatives that the church has been involved in are soup kitchens, promotion of domestic violence awareness, college tours and fitness. The church also makes an effort to help inmates at the Bedford Hills Correctional Facility for Women and their children, supports the Children's Village in Dobbs Ferry and many more.

The church was recently expanded and the congregation is planning a Community Life Center.
