Lyndhurst will exhibit "A Very Duchess Holiday," a celebration of the couture of Anna Gould, the Duchess of Talleyrand, who was the last owner of the mansion.

Lyndhurst will exhibit Anna’s couture against the backdrop of the mansion beautifully decorated for the holiday season. Additional pieces from the 10,000 piece collection include 19th century children’s toys, a family sleigh, holiday dinner services and a display of quilts and textiles.

Overlooking the Hudson River in Tarrytown, Lyndhurst is one of America’s finest Gothic Revival mansions. The exhibition is seen on regular tours of the mansion, which are available Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from Friday, Nov. 28 through Sunday, Dec. 28.  Also at Lyndhurst, "Mr. Dickens Tells a Christmas Carol" is an entertaining theatrical event for families to enjoy. An impersonator will recreate Dickens’ own readings of the classic tale that brings the travails of Ebenezer Scrooge, Bob Cratchit and Tiny Tim alive.

Dickens wrote "A Christmas Carol" in 1843 and performed public readings while touring throughout England beginning in 1857 and in the U.S. from 1867-1868. The performance is given throughout the rooms of the main floor of Lyndhurst mansion. The readings will take place on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from Friday, Dec. 5 through Sunday, Dec. 28 with additional performances on Monday, Dec. 23 and Friday, Dec. 26.

Lyndhurst is at 635 S. Broadway in Tarrytown. Tours and tickets can be purchased at the visitor’s center or in advance on the Lyndhurst web site www.lyndhurst.org. For more information, call 914- 631-4481.
