Gamechanger is collecting new and gently used children's books to donate to The Children's Aid Society's Discovery Literacy Program at Wagon Road Day Camp in Chappaqua.
This is the fourth book drive Gamechanger is hosting. Last year's book drive helped Neighbor's Link build an entire library.
From May 12 to May 19, Gamechanger is distributing a customized barcode than can be used to buy books at Barnes and Noble. For that week only, a percentage of sales will be donated automatically to the Wagon Road Day Camp’s literacy program when the barcode is used.
“At Wagon Road Camp, we want to make sure kids get fresh air in a safe environment, that they have fun, but also that they keep their mind engaged,” said Vince Canziani, director of the Children’s Aid Wagon Road Day Camp. “And reading is a critical part of that goal. We include a strong reading component in our program so that all kids maintain and improve their skills throughout the summer. This book drive is a huge help.”
