Casting Call: Bradley Cooper Movie Filming In The Berkshires Needs Extras

Movie star Bradley Cooper is filming a new movie in New England and is looking for extras to appear in the film.

Cooper is starring in and producing the movie called "Maestro," in Western Massachusetts which will film in Berkshire County in Tanglewood from Saturday, May 21 to Thursday, May 26, according to the casting company New York-based Grant Wilfley Casting Inc.

Tanglewood, Lenox, and Berkshire locals are encouraged to apply, the company said.

The parts available -- all paid --  call for actors to portray people from the 1940s; men must be comfortable receiving a period haircut and have natural colored hair. No buzz cuts, crew cuts, shaved heads, etc. 

Women must have natural colored hair and preferably above shoulder length. 

They are also looking for extras to appear in scenes from the 1980s including men with longer/shaggy hair and women with natural colored hair, of all lengths.

The movie is a biopic of legendary composer Leonard Bernstein, starring Cooper in the lead role. It also stars Carey Mulligan and Matt Bomer.

Bernstein has a long history with Tanglewood, the Western Massachusetts summer home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra since 1937.

The storied composer conducted his first opera there in 1946 and took over as the head of the orchestra in 1951.

All extras must have a COVID-19 vaccine, the casting company said.
