Covid-19: Here's Brand-New Breakdown Of Putnam County Cases By Town

One new COVID-19 related death was reported in Putnam last week as the county creeps closer to 100 fatalities since the pandemic began.

Putnam County officials reported 270 newly confirmed cases in the latest data released by the Department of Health, bringing the total to 7,619 total cases out of 147,696 COVID-19 tests administered since the virus started spreading in early March last year.

The new virus-related death brought the total to 82 following several weeks of multiple fatalities being reported statewide. 

There are currently 16 COVID-19 patients hospitalized in Putnam County, which is monitoring 239 active cases, down from 394 last week.

A breakdown of COVID-19 cases in Putnam County, according to the latest information released by the Department of Health as of Tuesday, Feb. 9:

  • Carmel: 2,844 (100 new);
  • Southeast: 1,534 (63);
  • Kent: 969 (34);
  • Putnam Valley: 860 (21);
  • Patterson: 738 (33);
  • Philipstown: 674 (19).

Statewide, a total of 1,479,220 positive COVID-19 cases have been confirmed out of 33.69 million tests that have been administered. There have been a total of 36,339 virus-related deaths since the beginning of the pandemic.
