The show will run from Oct. 16 through Nov. 15, with more than 20 participating artists. The opening reception will take place on Friday, Oct. 16 from 6-9 p.m.
Soszynska will be showing her conceptual designs for large outdoor public sculpture. Ceramic prototypes will be on display, as well as computer renderings depicting the pieces, placed in a natural setting.
Soszynska is a Westchester artist who grew up in Yonkers and now lives in Chappaqua. Her desire as an artist is to balance hard-edged, large-scale outdoor sculpture (angular pieces of iron and steel - male dominated) with equally monumental works of art that are unexpectedly soft, inviting, caressable and nurturing. She draws inspiration from the interdependence and growth of plants in nature. In their habits of yielding and adapting, they exhibit a vital and necessary feminine dynamic.
