WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – -- ArtsWestchester will present an exhibition featuring more than 150 original creations by more than 70 artists who are recipients of mental health services in Westchester County.

"Visions 2015: Inspirations, Reflections & Hope," which coincides with “Recovery Month” and “Wellness Week,” demonstrates that recipients of mental health services have embraced the concept of hope and are willing to share their views of recovery.

On view from Sept. 10-17 in ArtsWestchester’'s Shenkman Gallery at 31 Mamaroneck Ave. in downtown White Plains, this exhibition is free and open to the public. An opening reception will be held on Thursday, Sept. 10, from 5:30-7 p.m. The gallery is closed on Sundays and Mondays.

For exhibition information, call 914-428-4220 or visit artsw.org/visions .

The exhibit is the result of a partnership between ArtsWestchester, the Rockland Psychiatric Center and CHOICE of NY and is made possible with funding from Westchester County Department of Community Mental Health, Rockland Psychiatric Center, CHOICE of NY and artist Charles Fazzino.

These artists' varied and diverse life experiences bring unique perspectives to their creative efforts and subject matters. Their styles range from the realistic to the abstract. This exhibition not only helps promising artists to take the next step in their careers, but it opens the door for art lovers to experience a wealth of talent in their own community. “

The Shenkman Gallery is a venue where the work of local artists is showcased and appreciated by the entire community,” explains ArtsWestchester CEO Janet T. Langsam. "“We are especially proud of the artists participating in the Visions 2015 show and are sure exhibition visitors will be impressed by their work," she said.”
