TARRYTOWN, N.Y. – A new science camp is coming to Tarrytown this summer.

Destination Science plans to open its first locations in Westchester County, including Tarrytown, this year. The nonprofit organization aims to inspire 5-11 year olds with science-themed activities.

“Our goal is to give kids as young as five a love of science,” said Kathy Heraghty, a former teacher and athletic trainer and one of three women co-CEOs who operate the camp. “Many of the jobs of the future will involve STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math), but kids simply aren't getting enough of those subjects in their ‘diets.'”

Kids design robots and build roller coasters, among other things, in one-week sessions. The Tarrytown camp will take place at Temple Beth Abraham beginning July 8 and continuing through August. More details can be found on Destination Science's website.
