New York Life and Erie Insurance sponsored the event, which was attended by Mayor Ken Wray, Fire Chief John Korzelius and Miss Teen Westchester 2015, Jordan Decker.

“Our child ID day is helping to create a happier, safe environment for our children,” Linda Rey, principal of Rey Insurance, said of the event. “It was a fun time for the entire family, but it also provided valuable safety tips for parents and guardians.”

Despite dreary weather, the event drew nearly 50 attendees and supplied a dozen children with digital fingerprints, photos and child identification cards. Families also enjoyed pumpkin painting, prizes and a glimpse of Ernie the Big Blue Safety Dog. Members of the Sleepy Hollow Fire Department attended in a Halloween-decorated firetruck.
