Kilpatrick who plays for the Brooklyn Nets and lives in White Plains celebrated the grand opening of The Juice Lab, located at 148A Mamaroneck Avenue in White Plains Saturday. The Juice Lab plans to serve smoothies and juices to help foster a healthy lifestyle.

"I want to thank God without him none of this is even possible," said Kilpatrick, who was born in Yonkers and starred at White Plains High School. "All the people who came out to support this cause, all the people behind the scenes putting in the time and effort to make this happen, my family, the mayor, the media. Everyone thank you for coming and showing support."

In an interview with SLAM, Kilpatrick said he had always wanted to open up his own business. Kilpatrick said his dad and two of his best friends will run the business when he's not there.

It has been a busy offseason for Kilpatrick. Last month, Kilpatrick revealed White Plains High School was planning to retire his jersey. He also recently worked out with Kevin Durant and Steve Nash and the Nets picked up its option on his contract.

In February, Kilpatrick honored his former English teacher in an on-court ceremony for making a significant impact in his life. The Nets also unveiled a Kilpatrick bobblehead.
