The care package, part of a new partnership between Natural Markets and the Wounded Warrior Project, will include nearly 700 pounds of candy as well as a dollar per pound donation to the Wounded Warrior Project itself. The project coincides with the grocery chain’s Veteran’s Day commemoration.

Children from across Westchester County and Connecticut, where Mrs. Green’s operates 16 stores, stopped by Mrs. Green’s stores last Friday, Nov. 7, to drop off their excess Halloween Candy.

“Our stores are part of the communities they serve – and there is no greater reward than to provide for those who serve us. We are incredibly be proud to partner with the Wounded Warrior Project and show our support and gratitude to the brave men and women serving overseas,”said Pat Brown, chief executive Officer of Natural Markets Food Group, Mrs. Green’s parent company. “We believe that our troops are the backbone of our community and this care package and donation are small symbols of our gratitude to them for the sacrifices they have made.”

Natural Markets Food Group Senior Vice President Sherry Nolan-Shultz initiated and helped lead the new partnership.

"As a military spouse, I know firsthand what it means to have a loved one on the battlefront – and also how much it means to them to know we’re thinking about them,” said Nolan-Shultz.
