McDonald's Raises Wages For Employees

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- McDonald's announced it will raise wages for workers at all 1,500 of company-owned eateries to $1 more than the local prevailing minimum wage, according to Business Insider.

The fast-food giant also said it will start offering five days paid vacation to employees of company-owned stores who have accrued more than one year of service, Business Insider reported. 

The wage increases and paid time off only apply to company-owned restaurants. Roughly 90 percent of McDonald's restaurants are independently owned franchises, Business Insider said.
