Brett was named President of the WCA in June 2014. She joined the WCA in 2011 as the Executive Director of Economic Development. Her main focus in that role was to implement The Blueprint for Westchester, a multi-million dollar, multi-year initative to revitalize Westchester’s economy.

Brett said in an email she resigned to pursue other opportunities. "I am proud of all the work that has been accomplished,'' Brett wrote.

Brett’s work with The Blueprint led to the Accelerator Network to serve as a catalyst for economic development and to speed the growth of promising early-stage companies in Westchester. The Accelator Network combines Westchester’s prime business resources – commercial space, top professional services, mentors, and access to seed financing – into one package for those companies that emerge from the selection process.

Prior to joining the WCA in July, 2011, Brett was vice president of the Hudson Valley Economic Development Corporation (HVEDC), where she had a record of attracting investment and new jobs to the Hudson Valley over a six year period. She developed and implemented HVEDC’s real estate marketing program, launched a region-wide transaction database of all lease and sales transactions, and a quarterly report, “Hudson Valley Real Estate Transaction Tracker.”

Prior to joining HVEDC in 2005, she marketed a commercial real estate portfolio of 1.4 million square feet for Albert B. Ashforth, Inc. in White Plains.

Brett holds a bachelor of science degree from Fordham University, and an MCR in corporate real estate from CoreNet Global.

Brett serves on the board of directors for the United Way of Westchester and Putnam, on the board of trustees for the College of Westchester Charitable Foundation and on the Leadership Council for the YWCA of White Plains and Central Westchester. Brett lives in Brewster, N.Y., with her fiancee and two sons.
