Bank Donates $20,000 To Historic Hudson Valley

SLEEPY HOLLOW, N.Y. – Historic Hudson Valley's popular Halloween events just got a big financial boost.

Officials at the First Niagara Bank Foundation announced this week they've donated $20,000 to help support the non-profit's major Halloween-themed events in Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow: Horseman's Hollow at Philipsburg Manor, Washington Irving's “Legend” at the Old Dutch Church, and the Legend Celebration at Sunnyside.

“We are delighted to support not only the Halloween season in this historical part of New York State, but to also contribute to the preservation of these historic Hudson Valley sites,” David Ring said in a news release. Ring is the New England Regional President and Head of Enterprise Banking for First Niagara Bank. “These popular events draw tens of thousands of visitors to the region each year.”

First Niagara Bank has 430 branches throughout New York, Pennsylvania, Connecticut and Massachusetts. Historic Hudson Valley is a non-profit organization responsible for the restoration and upkeep of several Hudson Valley historical sites.

“We are deeply grateful to First Niagara Bank Foundation for this wonderful gift to Historic Hudson Valley,” Waddell W. Stillman, president of Historic Hudson Valley, said in a news release. “Horseman’s Hollow, Irving’s ‘Legend’ and the Legend Celebration are a great way to usher in the Halloween season.”
